The brand Castañer was founded in 1927 and in 1936 was nationalized during the Civil War, a period during which the brand was sequestered to provide the Spanish army of shoes.
In 1960, upon request of Yves Saint Laurent, launched the first model of espadrillas with heel, making his triumphant entrance into the fashion’s world.
